The subject and purpose of the company are

  • the utilization and management of the Westfalenhallen complex; it is up to the company to develop other activities at other places, provided that such activities serve the company's core business and are related to it;
  • holding any kind of events, in particular trade fairs, exhibitions, conferences and congresses, culture, sport and entertainment events and to facilitate the holding of such events.

In order to make this possible, Westfalenhallen Dortmund GmbH must collect, process and utilize data. Video surveillance has the purpose of collecting evidence in the event of vandalism, burglary or other criminal offences. 

10.5 Description of the relevant groups of persons or data or categories in this respect. In order to meet the above requirements under 4. the following personal data are collected, processed / utilized for the following groups of persons:

Address data incl. telephone, fax and email data, references, information about the respective trade sector, contractual and accounting data

Personal data of staff members, applicants, service providers are used within the framework of internal communication, support, administration and for accounting purposes, provided that they are required to meet the requirements set out under 4.

Video surveillance on the premises of Westfalenhallen Dortmund GmbH is carried out in order to control the traffic and visitor flows and for security purposes. No evaluation for other purposes will be take place.

10.6 Receiver or categories of receivers which may receive the data

10.7. Standard periods for the blockage / deletion of data
From a legislative point of view, a broad range of retention obligations and periods are determined. Upon expiry of these periods, the data are deemed routinely deleted. If data do not fall under such retention obligations and periods, they are deleted if the requirements according to 4. are no longer applicable.

In order that any discrepancy with respect to the utilization of personal data collected for advertising purposes can be considered, the data of the opposing party is included in a "restricted list".

10.8. Data transmission to states outside the European Union
A transmission of personal data of German citizens or citizens of other EU-countries to third countries without appropriate data protection standards is only possible if the receiver of the data has accepted the EU-wide standard contract clauses.
